St Matthias

May we welcome you to our site, which will hopefully answer some of the questions you may have. This site is intended to inform those who wish to visit us and those wishing to use our facilities and services; as well as to keep our community up-to-date with events.

St Matthias is part of the Richmond Team Ministry, working with two other Anglican Churches. We are an open and welcoming community, of a liberal outlook which values both traditional and informal Anglican worship. We value a challenging and questioning approach to matters of faith and practice. We are an inclusive church – all are welcome.

About 30 years ago the Church building was divided to provide the community with a usable space and so the St Matthias Centre was created. This conversion of our building won several awards. The St. Matthias Centre is a busy community hub and we have a Coffee Bar which is open every weekday morning during term time. Many diverse groups run from our premises. Click on the link to The Centre on the right to view more details of these groups and for details of how to contact our Centre Administrator.

For all our latest news, please click on the link to Weekly Pew Sheets. You can also click on the link  to view our Church Diary which has all the services and forthcoming events marked.

St Matthias is now over 150 years old – we celebrated our sesquicentennial in 2008.

We hope to welcome you at St Matthias in the near future.
