Learn Marathi!
If you enjoy languages, why not learn some Marathi?
The majority of people in Pune and at the Deep Griha Society will speak Marathi as their first language. Even just learning a few words and phrases will really mean something to the people you meet there.
You can try to learn it phonetically online at:

If you are really ambitious, you could buy yourself a book. Examples are:
Learn Marathi in a Month (M. Velankar)
Teach Yourself Marathi (R.S. Deshpande and G.E. Salpekar)
Create Resources!
Have you got any good ideas about projects and activities we might do with Deep Griha?
Here are some examples to get you thinking, but you might have your own ideas:
Design a Mural
The walls of many of the buildings are bare concrete. Why not design a mural we can paint when we are there?
Get Crafty
Are you good at creative work? Why not prepare some ideas and resources for arts and crafts we can do with children and young people when we are there?
Sports and Games?
If you are good at sport, maybe you could prepare a tournament or competition for our trip. Sport is great way to make new friends even when we speak different languages. Cricket is very popular in India. But you might want to teach new games too.
Teaching English
One of the gifts you can offer people in India is your knowledge of English. How can you share it? Do you know any songs, games or activities that might help children to learn English? (Clue: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes is very popular at Deep Griha!) What about adults? Any other ideas?
