New Constitution and Annual Meetings

The Diocese has approved our new constitution which means it will apply for the annual meetings on Sunday 28 April 2013.

The main changes are:

  • The post of Parish Warden will no longer exist, bringing us into line with other churches in the diocese. Each church will however continue to have two churchwardens.
  • Each church will have two elected lay PCC representatives rather than six and those representatives will be elected annually. You can be a representative for up to three consecutive yearly terms but then have to take a rest for a year before you can stand again.
  • Church Committees are being reorganised and will include a number of elected representatives. As with PCC lay representatives, elections will take place annually and you can be a representative for up to three consecutive yearly terms.

If you are thinking of standing as a candidate for churchwarden, PCC lay representative or Church Committee lay representative you need to be on the electoral roll. Similarly if you want to propose or second a candidate for any of these posts you also need to be on the electoral roll.
